Hutschenreuther, now part of the equally prestigious Rosenthal Group, began manufacturing and decorating this beautiful porcelain in the early 1800s. Look out for the Bavarian lion stamped on the back of each piece marking its quality.
Hutschenreuther is renowned for the artistic expressiveness and outstanding craftsmanship of its porcelain figures. Entirely handcrafted, the level of detail is astounding. From birds in flight through galloping horses to the more exotic animals such as Snow Leopards and Tigers, each Hutschenreuther piece displays a sensitive understanding needed to create such treasures.
Figurines are categorised in ranges described as Horses, The World of Birds, Wildlife, Water Fowl, Hunting and Fishing, and Cats and Dogs. Captured Moments are figurines of people in poses derived from classical drama, ballet or folklore.
Limited editions are available of a few selected Hutschenreuther pieces. The editions are quite small (100 to 500), but these are the ultimate collectible.
